Joint Warfighting Military Exercise – Evans Head and Amberley 11-24 July 2019

Members intending to operate in or around the Amberley and Evans Head areas during 11-24 July should be aware of a joint Australian and international Joint Warfighting Exercises.

A wide range of tactical flying exercises including military fixed and rotary wing aircraft will operate from RAAF Base Amberley in addition to RAAus Base Williamtown and Brisbane airport.

There is an AIP Supplement (H39/19) which provides more detail, however in broad terms pilots should carefully read all NOTAMs including head Office NOTAMS which will advise of hours of activation for permanent and temporary restricted and danger areas.

It is vital RAAus members understand the limitations and types of activities which may occur during these activated areas, with high speed military jets operating without communications during these dates.

There is also a Fly Neighbourly requirement in the vicinity of Navy Warships, pilots should avoid flying over warships by providing a 5 nm lateral and 2000 ft vertical separation.

There is a ADF Joint Airspace Control phone number for enquiries 02 6128 4857 or 6128 4858.
