Van's Aircraft Announce the RV-15

American manufacturers Van’s Aircraft have announced the next installment in their line-up… and it’s a high wing.
Announced at Oshkosh 2021, Van’s officials released a few key details of the upcoming RV-15, aimed towards backcountry flying at remote airstrips. “We’re excited about the design… it’s a large departure” said Rian Johnson, president of Van’s Aircraft.
Aside from the placement of the wings however, precious few details were made public. Seat configuration, engine type and price remain unreleased to an eager public, however Johnson was confident new information would not be far away. “We will be done before Oshkosh next year, to the point where we can have a picture and show that” he said.
In the meantime, Van’s seem happy to mess with us a little. The “Highlights” section of the new aircraft on the Van’s website reads “It burns fuel and has a wing on top, looks amazing and has lots of awesome features”.
Patience is a virtue, but it’s fair to say waiting for the first images of this new aircraft is really testing ours.
