William Creek is a tiny town on the Oodnadatta Track in the Outback of South Australia. Situated between Lake Eyre and Coober Pedy, it was once a crucial link in the original Ghan railway line – with a railway siding and a hotel that was busy with passing rail traffic. Now the town has a new connection to the outside world, as a busy aviation base for ‘Wrightsair’, running a fleet of aircraft to nearby Lake Eyre, the Flinders Ranges and other famous Outback destinations.
