ADDITIONAL NOTES SUPPLIED BY THE FTFThank you for visiting my RA-Aus Flight Training Facility web page.My name is Don Cramer and I own and operate the Fly Dalby FLIGHT TRAINING facility operating from Dalby in South East Queensland. Currently I hold a Chief Flight Instructor rating for Weightshift Microlights (both RA-Aus and HGFA) and a senior Instructor Rating for MTO Sport Gyrocopters and 3 axis ultralights. Also I hold a NVFR PPL (private pilots license - Night Rating and Controlled Airspace endorsements), an Advanced Hang Gliding rating plus Tug Master and aerotow endorsements. You might think flying is my life, and you would be correct in assuming so. I love to fly and I love to teach people to fly. All aspects of PROFESSIONAL flight training, including 3 Axis, Weightshift, Microlight and Gyrocopter training are provided. We would be pleased to offer you Dalby's most professional training at our facility. We offer aviators support and assistance towards your becoming a Recreational pilot. The minimum flying time required for a RA-Aus pilots certificate is 20 hours. It has been found that most pilots take longer than the 20 hours, as your training is competency based. The minimum flying time for a Cross Country endorsement is an additional 10 hours. It has been found that with the advancement of aircraft performance, extra hours are required to meet the syllabus requirement. Multiple cross-country training flights are therefore necessary to achieve the required cross-country standard. Most students average approximately twenty hours for their cross-country training. In general aviation you require 20 hours dual and 6.5 hours solo minimum, at a cost in excess of $9,000. Three hours flying training may be flown prior to applying for your student pilot certificate, then a further 9 hours may be flown before receipt of your student pilot certificate. HEALTH REQUIRMENTS Pilots are required to sign a Declaration of Health to the effect that their health standard is equivalent to that required for the issue of a private vehicle drivers licence. A signed FLY DALBY Flight Training indemnity form is also required. CLOTHING REQUIREMENTS As the aircraft are “open cockpit design”, suitable clothing should be worn for exposure to strong winds, similar to that worn by motorcyclists. During winter months, extra warm protective clothing is required. During summer months it is advisable to wear long light trousers and long sleeved shirts due to exposure to the sun and the potential for wind burn.
